about

Hello to you, I’m Iain.

I write and talk about videogames and other cultural technologies for lots of different places. I also direct the GameCity videogame festival and develop other projects around it for Nottingham Trent University.

I should probably post a c.v. here at some point, but in lieu of that, here’s the bio that I supplied recently for Tom Kim.

I live in Nottingham with my brilliant wife, splendid son, stupid dog and several incredibly powerful computers. Whenever I can, I like to work out of a heavily augmented shed, which lies under a willow tree at the bottom of my garden. This is where I’m happiest and where I feel I truly belong.
